Senegal win away for first time in six games

SAO PAULO (AP) Senegal were handed their first away win of the campaign with a 5-0 win over Iraq in their third friendly match of the week.

Jamal Nair, Arima Nair and Fadel Sissoko all put the hosts ahead early on before a brace from Nair gave them a first win in six matches in the capital São Paulo.

Sissoko was again the star of the show as he bagged his third of the season, scoring his first of the tournament.

He then added a second before Nair added another in the 69th minute.

The home side are in third place in the standings and have a game in hand on second-placed Cameroon.

Senegal coach Mohamed Ndidi has not made a change for their trip to Iraq on Saturday.

The win leaves Senegal just one point off the top of Group F and they face a crucial trip to Turkey on Tuesday.

The match took place in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 20,000.

The hosts had been hoping to take their first win of their tour, but a late comeback by Iraq in the 73rd minute put a dampener on the mood.
